We were thrilled partake in this year’s AGU23 ‘Wide Open Science’ conference, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from December 11th to 14th. The conference aimed to unite scientists and educators in a collective effort to “better understand our planet and environment.” Amidst the diverse array of activities, a highlight was the Puppy Pen situated in the heart of the North Hall, attracting hundreds of enthusiastic puppy enthusiasts eagerly awaiting their turn for some adorable cuddles.

Throughout the entire four-day conference, our Puppy Pen remained a constant hub of activity, with a continuous stream of hopeful attendees lining up, some even returning for a second dose of hugs from their favorite furry friends. The outpouring of appreciation was heartening, with participants declaring sentiments like, “thanks to Puppy Love, this was the best conference ever,” “why can’t every conference be like this?” and “I genuinely feel more relaxed after this, thank you.” These expressions of gratitude reaffirm the undeniable truth: taking a moment to decompress with a puppy in your arms fosters a positive environment, promoting general wellness and stress relief.

In addition to the immensely popular Puppy Pen, Puppy Love curated a more intimate experience for conference-goers with two sessions of adorable Doga (puppy yoga). Participants enjoyed the delightful spectacle of rescue puppies freely roaming, sometimes perching on top of yoga enthusiasts. The sight of these playful puppies engaging with yoga practitioners was so charming that it defies adequate description. One particularly special moment saw a chiweenie perching on a gentleman’s lap, both locked in a gaze while the puppy reveled in an abundance of affection. The overwhelming bliss in that yoga room was palpable.

Over the four days, we collaborated with two local rescues. The first two days featured DPS Rescue (Doggie Protective Services) from Palo Alto, showcasing the adoptable and spirited Chihuahua Hockey litter, the calm and drowsy Schnauzer mixed Peanut litter, and the endearing Chiweenie Scoops puppies. The following two days welcomed Fosters and Paws from Sacramento, presenting the Famous Chef litter, a lively mix of American Bulldog, German Shepherd, and Border Collie, along with the charming and independent French Bulldog, Frank. Excitingly, one fortunate puppy, Altan (now named Maverick), found his forever home during the conference.

Puppy Love Party strives to help facilitate relaxation and happiness through puppy cuddles, whether that be in the conference /trades, at corporate events, or in the office. We pride ourselves on exclusively partnering up with local rescues to help promote these organizations and the amazing adoptable dogs in their network. If you are looking for a unique way to show employee or conference attendees appreciation, we are here to help! We can’t wait to share the Puppy Love experience with you!
