Celebrating Employee Health & Wellness at the LA Music Center
As a prominent and cherished cultural hub in Los Angeles County, The Music Center holds a special place in the hearts of Angelenos. Being a lifelong resident of LA, I have fond memories of attending mesmerizing performances with my family at the LA Music Center, where the enchantment of music and theater left an indelible mark on my soul. These experiences nurtured my deep love for the arts, and I will forever be grateful for them.
So, you can only imagine my excitement when the LA Music Center approached Puppy Love Southern California to help celebrate their annual Health & Wellness event for their staff. It felt like a homecoming — but this time with the privilege of giving back to the institution that’s given me so much, all while bringing along some rescue puppies!
Not only does The Music Center serve the local community, but it strives to foster a sense of community among its employees. They are united in their shared purpose of serving resident companies and the people of Los Angeles County. The Music Center genuinely cares about its staff, valuing their needs and interests as human beings first and foremost. And that’s something we absolutely adore!
In line with their mission, The Music Center organized their annual Employee Health & Wellness event in May. More than 200 employees from The Mark Taper, The Ahmanson, and The Dorothy Chandler gathered on the pavilion for a delightful experience. Gourmet boxed lunches, delicious smoothies, information on available health and wellness benefits — and of course, Puppy Love!
Our litter of eight highly energetic and ridiculously cute chihuahua/terrier mixes made a grand entrance into the event area, escorted in a procession of puppy strollers, which delighted the attendees. Once settled in the Puppy Love pen, these little furballs were off to the races, showcasing a performance that left everyone in awe. They raced around the pen, chasing balls and each other, spreading an infectious wave of joyous energy. Employees couldn’t contain their excitement, eagerly entering the puppy pen to sit down and cuddle with these lovable creatures. Selfies were snapped and shared on social media, spreading the puppy love far and wide. As always, all the puppies were up for adoption, and several even found their fur-ever homes with Music Center staff!
As the two-hour event drew to a close, enthusiastic volunteers offered to carry the pups back to the rescue transport, cherishing every last second of affection. The numerous smiles on the faces of employees and the overwhelming praise spoke volumes — this event was an enormous success! The Music Center’s unwavering commitment to the well-being and needs of their employees as human beings was crystal clear and lauded by all who attended.
Los Angeles Music Center, take a well-deserved bow. You deserve a standing ovation for the profound impact you have on the lives of your employees and the community as a whole!
